IBPS RRB Assistant 2023: Eligibility Criteria, Educational Qualification & Age Limit

You must check whether you meet the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Eligible candidates must meet the requirements set by the Institute before they can sit for the IBPS RRB Assistant Exam. Have a look:

Nationality:

  • A Citizen of India or,
  • A Subject of Nepal or,
  • A Subject of Bhutan or,
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or,
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Additionally, candidates belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above should have a certificate of eligibility that has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit:

The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years, as on October 1, 2023. Check the upper age relaxation for different categories:

Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer (Manager)) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is required. 2 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution
Officer Scale III (Senior Manager) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is required. 5 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution
Officer Scale-II (Specialist Officers (Manager)) Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (MBA for Treasury Manager/ Marketing Officer) or its equivalent is required. 1 year in the relevant field (2 years for law officer)

IBPS RRB Assistant Exam Pattern 2023

Both the exam pattern for IBPS RRB Assistant Prelims and the main examination are online in nature. However, both these examinations differ from one another. In addition, negative marking for giving an incorrect answer is also applicable.

IBPS RRB Assistant Prelims 2023 Exam Pattern

There will be a total of 80 MCQs in the Preliminary Examination consisting of two sections - Reasoning & Quantitative Ability. You get 1 mark for each correct answer. The medium of examination will be bilingual – English & Hindi, except for the English Language section.

There will be 200 MCQs covering topics like Reasoning & Computers, General Awareness Paper, English language, and Data analysis & interpretation.

Interview

Those candidates who pass the first two phases will go through an interview round where they'll get selected based on their performance. In order to qualify for an interview, you must pass the preliminaries. However, not every candidate who passes the prelims will get selected for an interview. Only candidates who score well enough will be interviewed.

Candidates who want to apply for the job are advised to follow the instructions given below.

Step 1: Visit the application link of IBPS RRB Assistant https://ibps.in/.

Step 2:Here, the applicants need to enter some basic personal and educational details.

Step 3: Upload the digitally scanned images of photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.

Step 4: A temporary registration number & password will be sent on the registered Email ID and Mobile number of the candidate

Step 5: Once the candidate has filled the application form, now they have to upload their documents.

Given below is the fee schedule for IBPS PO Online Application. Once fees are paid, there will not be refunds. Fees cannot be held back for future examinations. Release of application form:  The application form is released online on the official website. After completing the online application form, applicants must upload their photographs and signatures, fill out the details of the application form, submit their left thumbs impressions and handwritings, pay fees, and wait for approval from the board members.

Issue of admit card:  IBPS RRB Assistant Admit Card 2023 has been released online for various stages. Candidates must log into their accounts using their unique login credentials (registration number/roll number) and date of birth or passwords.

Appearing in the exam:  The exam consists of three phases: Prelims, Mains and Interview. Those who qualify the preliminary exams are called for the main examinations. Candidates who score well enough on their main exams are invited for an interview. After the main exam and interview, the final decision for which candidate gets hired depends on who has scored better during these two stages.

Declaration of result:  Results for IBPS RRB Assistant exam are released online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Candidates must log into their account using either an ID card (registration number) or a PIN code (password).
