IBPS Clerk 2023: Eligibility Criteria, Educational Qualification & Age Limit

Here are the eligibility criteria for Educational Qualification and age limit as per the latest IBSPC clerk notification. Candidates who fulfil the below criteria may be eligible to appear for IBPS Clerk Examination 2023. We'll update this post when we get new notifications.

Nationality:

  • A Citizen of India or,
  • A Subject of Nepal or,
  • A Subject of Bhutan or,
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or,
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Additionally, candidates belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above should have a certificate of eligibility that has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit:

The minimum age limit is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years, as on October 1, 2023. Check the upper age relaxation for different categories:

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university or college.
  • If you're proficient in the official language(s) of the state/utility where you want to live, then you'll be able to communicate better there.
  • Candidates must be computer literate. They must be able to operate computers. Candidates must hold a certificate / diploma / degree in Computer Operations.
  • Candidates must be graduates (or postgraduates) of any university recognised by the Central government and must have passed their qualifying examination(s) no later than October 27, 2023.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2023

The IBPS Clerk exam occurs in two stages: Prelims and Mains. These two papers both use an online method for administering their examinations. The format for the test is as follows:

IBPS Clerk Prelims 2023 Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Exam of IBPS Clerk CRO IX is an online test which tests a candidate’s ability to understand concepts related to banking. There are three sections in total and the candidate must clear the cut-off of each section to proceed to the mains exam round.

To get through the exam, candidates need to secure at least one passing grade from each test. A sufficient number of candidates from each category as determined by IBPS will be selected for online main examination.

There will be 190 MCQs covering topics like Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General/ Financial Awareness.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Registration Process

The online application process started on 07/10/2023and ended on 27/10/2023. All the interested and eligible candidates have submitted their application form along with required documents, photographs, signatures & IBPS Clerk hand-written declaration to register for IBPS Clerk 2023 Exam.

Candidates applying online must have the following pre-requisites:

  • A valid Email Id
  • Photograph and Signature scanned in the prescribed size
  • Application Fee must be paid online so all documents required for online transaction

IBPS Clerk Recruitment Process:

The recruitment process of IPBPS Clerk is explained here:

Release of application form:  The application form is released online on the official website. After completing the online application form, applicants must upload their photographs and signatures, fill out the details of the application form, submit their left thumbs impressions and handwritings, pay fees, and wait for approval from the board members.

Issue of admit card:  IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2023 has been released online for various stages. Candidates must log into their accounts using their unique login credentials (registration number/roll number) and date of birth or passwords.

Appearing in the exam:  The exam consists of three phases: Prelims, Mains and Interview. Those who qualify the preliminary exams are called for the main examinations. Candidates who score well enough on their main exams are invited for an interview. After the main exam and interview, the final decision for which candidate gets hired depends on who has scored better during these two stages.

Declaration of result:  Results for IBPS Clerk exam are released online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Candidates must log into their account using either an ID card (registration number) or a PIN code (password).
