IBPS PO Recruitment Notification 2026 - 4135 Vacancies!

IBPS PO prelims exam was held from 4th to 11th December 2026 for recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) posts across India. IBPS will conduct its upcoming exams (mains) in January next year. For the first time ever, there are 4135 vacant posts of PO available at Indian Banks. IBPS PO Vacancies 2026

The Indian Institute of Bankers' Association (IBAS) has finally released the list of vacancies for IBPS PO 2026 exam. This year a total number of 4135 vacancies are announced by the IBPS. Candidates can refer to the following table for details regarding the IBPS PO vacancy.

IBPS PO 2026: Eligibility Criteria, Educational Qualification & Age Limit

You must check whether you meet the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Eligible candidates must meet the requirements set by the Institute before they can sit for the IBPS PO Exam. Have a look:

Nationality:

  • A Citizen of India or,
  • A Subject of Nepal or,
  • A Subject of Bhutan or,
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or,
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Additionally, candidates belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above should have a certificate of eligibility that has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit:

The minimum age limit is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years, as on October 1, 2026. Check the upper age relaxation for different categories:

Education Qualification:

  • A degree (graduation), whether obtained through an Indian university or not, must be recognised by the government for it to count towards eligibility under Section 80(E). However, if the degree was awarded before October 1, 2020, then it doesn't need recognition.
  • The candidate must possess an official degree certificate from his/her university that shows they graduated on the date he/she registers for the exam. Your mark sheets / degrees / certificates should show the percentage of marks obtained during graduation while applying for IBPS PO Online Registration.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2026

Both the exam pattern for IBPS PO Prelims and the main examination are online in nature. However, both these examinations differ from one another. In addition, negative marking for giving an incorrect answer is also applicable.

IBPS PO Prelims 2026 Exam Pattern

There will be a total of 100 MCQs in the Preliminary Examination consisting of three sections - English Language, Reasoning & Quantitative Ability. You get 1 mark for each correct answer. The medium of examination will be bilingual – English & Hindi, except for the English Language section.

IBPS PO Mains 2026 Exam Pattern

There will be 155 MCQs covering topics like Reasoning & Computers, Economics, Banking awareness, English language, and Data analysis & interpretation. Two descriptive questions will be asked from English Language.

Interview

Those candidates who pass the first two phases will go through an interview round where they'll get selected based on their performance. In order to qualify for an interview, you must pass the preliminaries. However, not every candidate who passes the prelims will get selected for an interview. Only candidates who score well enough will be interviewed.

IBPS PO 2026 Registration Process

Candidates who want to apply for the job are advised to follow the instructions given below.

Step 1: Visit the application link of IBPS PO @ibps.in.

Step 2: Click on “Click Here for New Registration”

Step 3: Enter the Email ID and Other credentials.

Step 4: A temporary registration number & password will be sent on the registered Email ID and Mobile number of the candidate

Step 5: Once the candidate has filled the application form, now they have to upload their documents.

IBPS PO 2026 Application Fee

Given below is the fee schedule for IBPS PO Online Application. Once fees are paid, there will not be refunds. Fees cannot be held back for future examinations. IBPS PO Recruitment Process:

The recruitment process of IPBPS PO is explained here:

Release of application form:  The application form is released online on the official website. After completing the online application form, applicants must upload their photographs and signatures, fill out the details of the application form, submit their left thumbs impressions and handwritings, pay fees, and wait for approval from the board members.

Issue of admit card:  IBPS PO Admit Card 2026 has been released online for various stages. Candidates must log into their accounts using their unique login credentials (registration number/roll number) and date of birth or passwords.

Appearing in the exam:  The exam consists of three phases: Prelims, Mains and Interview. Those who qualify the preliminary exams are called for the main examinations. Candidates who score well enough on their main exams are invited for an interview. After the main exam and interview, the final decision for which candidate gets hired depends on who has scored better during these two stages.

Declaration of result:  Results for IBPS PO exam are released online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Candidates must log into their account using either an ID card (registration number) or a PIN code (password).
